The caravan has been transformed into a shanty with an upper floor and even an annex. The superstructures are propped up by timberwork. Three adults and three children are populating the plate while a sleeping figure can be made on the platform.

With the indication of a beam in the foreground. Some shadows removed near the ladder.

The plate was printed by Delâtre for Diétrich, before being destroyed. The work is often found with the Fruitière (Ba 29), with which it perhaps forms a pair. Some of the gypsy camps in the zone were indeed becoming almost permanent (Hilairet 1964, article rue Letort).
